About LCRTA
Ninety-seven Toledo area retired teachers were charter members of the "Retired Teachers League of Ohio", established January 25, 1947.
On April 5, 1948 the local Policy Committee submitted the aims and objectives of the Lucas County Chapter. The following is an excerpt from this document:
Our Objectives: to further good fellowship among retired teachers; to support the causes of education; to promote the interests of the teachers now in service; to provide for the welfare and to promote the financial interests of retired teachers by united action".
Through the years our members have worked to fulfill these objectives. Our organization continues to be the one voice speaking to legislators in the interest of retired teachers.
LCRTA is now 750 members strong and continues to grow.
